4 youths lynched in Bogura
Locals lynched four youths on suspicion of child-lifting in Gabtali upazila of the district.
The lynching incident happened at Baithavanga area under Durgahata Union between 4 pm and 8 pm on Monday (July 22)
On information, Durgahata Union Parishad (UP) chairman rescued the youths and took them to UP building.
Later, angry mob encircled the building, detained the chairman Abdul Matin Mithu demanding release of the youths. Angry mob also hurled stones at law-enforcers, torched the pick-up van that carried the youths.
Afterwards, additional police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. The four youths were taken to Gabtali Model Police Station.
Police detained 12 unidentified persons for attacking police and impeding their task. The youths are under interrogation. Legal action will be taken after verifying information, Selim Hossen, officer-in-charge of Gabtali Model Police Station, told Banglanews.
