4 to die for killing Laxmipur woman
A district court on Tuesday (Nov 26) sentenced a woman among four people to death for killing her mother-in law in 2016.
The death-row convicts are Sharmin Akter, Sharmin’s friend Jamal, Nazim and Jashim of Dharmapur village in Sadar upaizla. All of them are on the run.
As the hearing in the case ended, Senior District and Sessions Judge Mohamamd Shahenur issued the verdict.
According to the prosecution, Jakera Begum, mother-in-law of Sharmin, was strangulated to death by the convicts at Dharmapur village in Sadar upazila on July 14, 2016.
Khoshed Alam, brother-in-law of Sharmin, filed a case with Sadar Police Station on the following day.
