4 Moulvibazar men to die for ‘71 crimes
The International Crimes Tribunal sentenced four persons of Moulvibazar to death for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

Simultaneously, they were handed over jail until death as the two charges brought against them proved true.

A 3-member tribunal headed by ICT Chairman Justice Md Shahinur Islam announced the verdict Tuesday (July 17).

The convicts are—Akmal Ali Talukder, 76, Abdur Nur Talukder alias Laal Mia, 62, Md Anis Mia, 76, and Md Abdul Mosabbir Mia.

Of them, Akaml, Laal and Mosabbir are absconding.

Syed Haider Ali, Sheikh Mushfique Kabir and Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon moved for the prosecution while Abdus Sobhan Tarafder and Abul Hasan moved for the convicts at the courtroom.

The tribunal accepted charges against the convicts on May 30, 2016. 

Murder, rape, abduction, looting and arson charges were brought against them, in the final report run by the ICT investigation agency.
