4 arrested over police official murder incident
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four people from Hazaribagh area in the capital on Wednesday night in connection with the killing of police inspector Mamun Emran.
Abdul Baten, Joint Commissioner of DMP's Detective Branch (DB), confirmed this on Thursday at a press briefing.
He said they are trying to nab the other accused in the case.
The arrested men are Mizan Sheikh, Meherunnesa Shorna, Suraiya Akter Keya and Faria Binte Mim.
A general diary was filed with Sabujbagh Police Station on July 8.
Then, police arrested Mamun's friend Rahmantullah in connection with the murder.
Rahmatullah went to Shorna's house with Mamun at Banani with an invitation. The accused beaten Mamun to death there.
Later, Mamun's body was taken to a forest under Kaliganj Thana of Gazipur where Rahmatullah poured petrol on his face and burnt it.
Police recovered the body from the forest on July 10.
A case was filed with Banani Police Station in this connection
