24 bodies uncovered in Mexico mass grave
Mexican authorities have uncovered 24 decomposed bodies on a mass grave on a rural area of west Michoacan state, regional prosecutors said in Thursday.
The victims were killed between four and half a year ago and many have close-range gunshot wounds as well as been decapitated, said Michoacan attorney standard Adrian Lopez Solis, citing forensic experts' estimate.The dead, aged 20-40, included five women, Solis said, adding that authorities are working to recognize them predicated on the set of local missing persons.
The grave was discovered in a park near a construction zone in the Comanje neighborhood of Coeneo, some 94 km from the state capital Morelia, after lots of people allegedly involved with local medication trade were detained on Feb. 14 in the local town of Patzcuaro.
