2 workers die inhaling gas in septic tank
Two workers died after inhaling gas in a septic tank at the WASA Water Treatment Project in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram on Monday.
The dead were identified as Nazrul Islam, 30, son of Abdur Rouf of Patuakhali, and M Yusuf, 22, son of Al Amin of Bagerhat.
Welding work had been done at the septic tank of the plant in Modunaghat area about a month ago.
The workers took off the septic tank's lid and got down inside this morning.
They inhale Ammonia gas as soon as entered inside, leaving them unconscious.
They were rescued and taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the doctors on-duty declared them dead.
Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost ASI Alauddin Talukder confirmed the matter.
