2 Covid sufferers and 4 with Covid symptoms die at RMCH
At least two confirmed Covid-19 patients and four people with symptoms of the condition died at the corona unit of the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) during the past 24 hours.
Medical center director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani said that of the deceased, several were Covid-19 positive patients while four other folks showed symptoms of the virus infection.
“Of the deceased, three were from Chapainawabganj district, while one each were from Rajshahi, Natore, and Chuadanga,” he said.
A complete of 107 persons have died at RMCH in only 2 weeks, from 24 May to 6 June. Of them, 62 had contracted Covid-19.
With the admission of 30 more patients on Saturday, the number of patients in the hospital has risen to 235 which is a lot more than the hospital's management capacity.
At the moment, the coronavirus infection rate on Rajshahi stands at 51%.
To stem the spread of coronavirus, the local administration has already enforced nighttime lockdown from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am.
