2 Christchurch attack victims buried in Bangladesh
Two Bangladeshi victims, who were among the 50 persons killed in the deadly Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, were buried at their homes in Narsingdi and Narayanganj districts Wednesday (March 27).
The bodies were separately brought homes on Tuesday (March 27) and Wednesday (March 27).
Jakaria Bhuiyan was buried at his family graveyard in Joypura village of Palash upazila of Narsingdi following a namaz-e-janaza around 11:30am.
Narsingdi-3 lawmaker Zahirul Islam Bhuiyan Mohon and Palash upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Romana Yasmin, among others, were present.
Jakaria flew to New Zealand to seek fortune some two and a half years ago.
Omar Faruk was buried at the Bandar Graveyard in Narayanganj following a namaz-e-janaza at the Sirajuddoula Club ground around 10am.
Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) ward councilors Sultan Ahmmed and Hannan Sarker, upazila chairman Ataur Rahman Mukul and Bandar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam, among others, took part in the namaz-e-janaza.
Omar Faruk flew to New Zealand to seek fortune in 2015.
However, at least 50 persons including 5 Bangladeshi immigrants were killed by racist gunman during Jumma prayer at Al-Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch of New Zealand on March 15.
