2 ABT men get life imprisonment in Faridpur blast case
A court in Faridpur on Wednesday sentenced two members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) to life term imprisonment in an explosion case.
The court also fined them TK 20,000 each, in default, to serve three months more in jail.
The convicts are: Nahid Mollah, 22, of Bhanga upazila and Farid Mridha, 35, of Sadarpur upazila, of the district.
Special Judge Md Motiar Rahman delivered the judgement in presence of the convicts.
On August 26, 2016, police arrested Nahid alongwith hand bombs and Jihadi books from Bhanga bazar area. Acting on his statement, law enforcers, later, arrested Farid on the same night.
A pistol, a shutter gun, four magazines, 12 hand bombs and bomb making materials were also recovered from his possession.
Bhanga police SI Gazi Salahuddin filed a case in this connection.
