The government has made a decision to shut all government and private offices and courts from March 26 to April 4 amid mounting fears of the coronavirus which has infected 33 people and killed three.

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam made the announcement on Monday.

The shutdown won't affect emergency services.

“All of the government and private offices will stay closed from March 26 to April 4 to avoid the spread of coronavirus,” Cabinet Secretary told a press briefing at the Secretariat.

He said the Army personnel in aid of civil power will be deployed at divisional and district levels from March 24 next to greatly help local administrations ensure social distancing and take cautionary measures to support the spread of coronavirus in the united states.

Public transport will are powered by a limited scale through the holidays.

Bangladesh on Monday confirmed the 3rd death from coronavirus.

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora at a briefing through online also confirmed six new coronavirus cases in the united states taking the total to 33.

Five of among the infected have already recovered from the condition.
