US-Bangla Airlines launches flights to Chennai
US-Bangla Airlines becomes the first Bangladeshi airline to launch flights to Chennai, India from March 31, announced the carrier at a press conference held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka hotel today.
Imran Asif, CEO, Shafiqul Islam, Head of Sales and Marketing, Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager – Marketing Support and Public Relations were present from US-Bangla Airlines. Jithu Jose, Senior Group General Manager, International Patient Division, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai also graced the occasion.
Primarily, US-Bangla Airlines will operate flights from Dhaka to Chennai thrice a week. The minimum fair for Dhaka-Chennai route one-way is BDT15,043 and return is BDT24,223. For Chattogram-Chennai route, the minimum fair for one-way is BDT16,045 and return is BDT BDT26,225 (all inclusive).
On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, the flight will start from Dhaka at 9:10 am and 10:45 am from Chattogram. It will reach Chennai, India at 12:45 pm local time. Then, after an hour, the flight will depart from Chennai at 1:30 pm local time. It will reach Chattogram at 4:30 pm and Dhaka at 6:00 pm.
Besides, US-Bangla Airlines is offering attractive tour and medical packages to avail in Chennai for Bangladeshi travellers.
Medical tourism in India is rapidly growing. There are world-class public and private hospitals and medical facilities in Chennai which is considered the health care capital of India. Among the major hospitals, there are Apollo Hospitals, Apollo Speciality Hospital, SRM Medical College and Research Center and many more.
Every year, India witnesses 10-12 lac tourist arrivals. Among which, 20 per cent arrives with medical visa. Since India has state-of-the-art medical equipments, their medical services are very developed yet affordable at the same time.
Therefore, US-Bangla Airlines and Apollo Hospital Chennai have signed a bilateral agreement.
Imran Asif, CEO, US-Bangla Airlines, said, “We are offering a Chennai medical package for BDT37,990 per person. The package includes Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka return air ticket, 2 nights 3 days hotel accommodation for two, complimentary breakfast, free visa invitation letter, free doctor’s appointment, free airport pick-up and Apollo Master Health Check Package.”
The Apollo Master Health Check Package includes Haemogram, Blood Sugar Tests, Kidney Function Tests, Lipid Profile, Liver Function Tests, Complete Urine Analysis, Stool Test, ECG, X-Ray Chest, Ultrasound of the Abdomen (screening only) and Pap smear (for women).
Jithu Jose, Senior Group General Manager, International Patient Division, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, said, “For the first flight, we are offering a special service to all the passengers with a medical voucher to Chennai where they can get a special discount of 20 per cent on all health check packages. We will be happy to offer free medical consultation service for the passengers of US-Bangla Airlines. They can write to us and we will respond within 24 hours.”
Besides the health package, US-Bangla is offering a 2 nights 3 days holiday package for BDT32,490. It includes Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka return air ticket, 2 nights 3 days hotel accommodation for two, complimentary breakfast and free airport pick-up.
US-Bangla Airlines will operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft of 164 seat capacity for Dhaka-Chennai-Dhaka route. The aircraft has 8 business class and 156 economy class seats.
The airline also announced to offer 20 per cent discount on all flight tickets at their NOVOAIR Dhaka Travel Mart-2019 stall which will take place on March 21-23 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.
