Carlo Ancelotti's men restored their lead ten minutes into the second period with another lovely solo effort, as Brahim Diaz squeezed past two Atletico players before finding the far corner.

PSV Eindhoven 1-7 Arsenal

Arsenal have one foot in the quarter-finals after thrashing PSV Eindhoven 7-1 on Tuesday night.

The Gunners opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Declan Rice lifted a cross to the far post where Jurrien Timber was on hand to head home.

The lead was doubled three minutes later as Myles Lewis-Skelly turned provider to pick out Ethan Nwaneri for the close-range finish.

An enjoyable first half was capped off with Mikel Merino adding a third goal for Arsenal, although the Dutch side did pull a goal back through Noa Lang from the penalty spot.

Mikel Arteta's charges extended their lead further in the second period, with Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard both getting on the score-sheet in the opening five minutes.

Odegaard completed his brace in the 73rd minute while defender Ricardo Calafiori rounded off the scoring in the 85th minute with his first goal of the campaign.

Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Lille

Borussia Dortmund and LOSC Lille have it all to play for in the second leg after a 1-1 draw in the first leg on Tuesday.

The Bundesliga outfit took the lead in the - minute courtesy of a strike from Karim Adeyemi.

Lille, however, did bag the equaliser after 66 minutes, with Hakon Haraldsson getting his first goal in the competition.

Club Brugge 1-3 Aston Villa

Aston Villa secured a crucial 3-1 victory away to Belgian outfit Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.

The Premier League outfit opened the scoring after just three minutes through Leon Bailey's strike, before Maxum de Cuyper pulled Brugge level on 12 minutes.

However, Villa had to wait until the 82nd minute to restore their lead thanks to an own goal from Brandon Machele, before Marco Asensio sealed the win from the penalty spot six minutes later.
