Official: Liverpool Pay British Transfer Record Fee For Isak
Liverpool have shattered the Premier League transfer fee record for the second time this transfer window to secure the signing of Alexander Isak.

Liverpool record transfer Alexander Isak has been completed as the Reds smashed the Premier League transfer record 2025, securing the Swedish striker for £130m. The Alexander Isak Liverpool signing fee marks a major move in Liverpool new striker transfer news.

The long-running transfer saga involving the Reds and the Swedish striker has finally come to an end, with the English champions confirming the forward’s arrival for a reported fee of £130 million (R3 billion). The Merseysiders have pursued the Scandinavian sensation for much of the transfer window. Isak missed the entirety of Newcastle United’s pre-season as well as their opening Premier League fixtures in a bid to force a move to Anfield.

While the Magpies initially rejected a reported £110 million (R2.6 billion) bid from the six-time European champions, they have now agreed to let their talisman depart for a record-breaking fee as he is now set to put pen to paper on a six year contract.

This decision is believed to be influenced in part by the club-record signing of German international Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart, who arrived for €75 million (R1.5 billion). Newcastle had previously seen bids rejected for Jorge Strand Larsen, Yoane Wissa and Hugo Ekitike.

Ekitike ultimately joined Liverpool earlier in the window, and now the Reds have further strengthened their attack with the addition of Isak. Arne Slot’s side have invested heavily this off-season, bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz—whose €125 million (R2.5 billion) transfer briefly stood as the Premier League record—alongside Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni and Armin Pešić.
