Hefazat leader Mamunul remanded
A Dhaka court has placed Hefazat-e-Islam’s joint secretary general Mamunul Huque on a seven-day remand in a violence case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari passed the order after hearing both sides.

From the court, Mamunul was again taken up to the DB office.

Earlier today, police produced the Hefazat leader prior to the Dhaka court from the DB office amid tight security.

Mamunul Huque can be an accused in minimum 17 cases filed with different police stations in the administrative centre.

On Sunday afternoon, police arrested Mamunul Huque from Jamiya Rahmania Madrasa at Mohammadpur in the capital.

Following the arrest, Mamunul was taken to Tejgaon Police Station for interrogation. Before that, he was taken up to the Tejgaon deputy police commissioner's office.
