2019 iPhones to come with three 12MP rear cameras
Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shed light on the next-generation iPhones and this is one of the most exciting news to come regarding the handsets since it was rumoured that the OLED models would come with three rear cameras.

As per a report by MacRumors, Kuo has stated that all three 2019 iPhone models will come with a 12MP camera sensor which will be a sizable upgrade from the current 7MP sensors found on the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. The research note obtained by the website also states that 2019 iPhone XS and XS Max successors will come with triple-lens rear cameras that include a 12MP telephoto lens, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP super-wide-angle lens that will be supplied by Sony.

Kuo states, “We forecast the camera upgrade will be one of the new 2H19 iPhone's major selling points. Critical spec upgrades are as follows. (1) Rear cameras of 6.5-inch OLED, 5.8-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch LCD will likely upgrade to triple-camera and dual-camera, respectively. A super-wide camera will be newly adopted by the triple-camera system, which is equipped with the 12MP/1um CIS provided exclusively by Sony. (2) The front camera of all three new iPhone models will likely upgrade to 12MP CIS+5P lens (vs. current 7MP CIS+4P lens).

With respect to the iPhone XR, Kuo stated that it will come with a dual-lens system on the rear; however, the megapixel ratings of either are still unknown. The current iPhone XR features a single 12MP sensor.

Speaking about the 2019 OLED iPhone models, Kuo states that Apple will make use of a special “black-lens coating technologies” that will make the camera lenses on the front and rear look ‘inconspicuous.’

The report states, “The rumoured triple-lens camera design for the next iPhones has proved quite controversial, but the special coating should help the far-right lens blend into the black bezels for a more aesthetically pleasing look.”

Lastly, Kuo states that the next generation iPhones will launch by the second half of 2019 which is no surprise since Apple has traditionally launched their handsets by September of every calendar year.
